PROS
* Good signal strength - I tested it at various spots in my house and yard and never had an issue with receiving a signal
* Cute design - looks a bit like a lantern from Pottery Barn or Restoration Hardare
* Not too flimsy. It's not heavy, but it won't blow over in a breeze, either
* Weather resistant (though it says not weather proof--"you can take it outside, but don't leave it there")
*
Can run on 6 AA batteries or a power cord (people have complained that
will make it tip over, but my unit has small feet on the bottom, so you
can run the cord underneath without any issues). TIP: if you switch from
electric to battery power, be sure to unplug the cord from the unit or
it will disable the batteries
* Can either broadcast wirelessly, or can plug your iPod in directly
*
Decent sound. Not fantastic but not bad either... loud enough to hear
around the house or while working outside, without bothering the
neighbors
CONS
* If it's dark outside, it's hard to find the
"power" button (which is the 2nd of about 5 buttons; the large/first
button is "bass boost"), so you'll have to turn it on inside, bring a
flashlight, memorize the button location, or fumble a bit
* Sure has a
lot of wires for something designed to be portable... if you're using
it, the broadcast unit MUST be plugged in (and has no off switch, so
when you're done you must unplug it), and then has an 8 FOOT cable
connecting it to my iPod, which seems like a whole lot of cord for
something that I usually keep just 2 feet away. (To be fair, if you plug
your iPod directly into the unit, that cord is only 3 feet long, which
is reasonable)
